Memorial Day weekend = fun in the sun!!

Memorial day weekend we headed to Gaga and Papa's. Lots of fun, lots of food, lots of sun= good times! We began the morning with pancakes. This is usually a task tackled by Chef Wesley....but today he was nice (and patient) enough to let the short on help.. He LOVED it!!!
and then we headed outside for some sprinkler fun. He found this little fire hydrant at my Aunt's house. We had no idea what it did except it had a hole to hook to a hose.. I really think this thing must have been a toy of Michelle's as it looked like it came from the 70s..But Chaz thought it was cool.. He carried it around all weekend.. "Dis is my firehouse hose"
and out comes the Rhino.. it really only takes about 2 minutes from the time he wakes up to yell "I go outside and ride the Rhino"
Chaz found some other stuff from the 70s at my aunts house :) There were three little boats. He kept tossing them in the pool and wanting to reach in after them ....after they sunk. My heart stopped everytime. Although I was standing right next to him all I could think was him going end over end into the pool.. So my dad and Ryan started with drilling holes in them so they didn't get filled with water, then they drilled a hole in the front and tied some fishing line through the hole... then on the other end of the fishing line they used some old diving sticks. Chaz thought it was the coolest thing. He could walk far enough back from the pool (to make mommy's heart beat at a normal rate) and drag the boats. If he wanted to put them away he could just roll them up --kite style.. Very smart boys, Very smart....and he had to water Papa's plants.. hee hee.
Ryan enjoyed a little time opening gifts from my side of the family... and of course Chaz HAD to help!
Alexis and Kelsey got him some "Razorback Bling" What a tool!
Ryan got a fun bag of toys to share with Chaz.. The big hit was the bubble blower!
When Ryan is bored he goes to Lowes.. good thing it is just a few minutes from my parents house.. this morning he found a smokin' deal on some cute little kids chairs. He bought two blue chairs to take to our house and two green ones to leave at Gaga and Papa's house.. Gaga enjoyed the little green chair :) to bad they were meant for Chaz. Oh well he is good at sharing!
He had a great time in the pool spraying Kelsey with the water shooter!
and Kelsey was sneaky enough to get Ryan with a bucket of water!
Goofy frog!
Once Gaga was bumped out of the chair Chaz was able to spend some fun time in the sun!
He has a few "built in babysitters" in the family. One of which is Alexis. She is so patient and just waits for her "turn" with Chaz. I swear they played on the steps in the pool for an hour. He loved it!! and then it was time to "teach" meme how to play baseball. Notice the goggles he is wearing I guess that is for better coaching :)
I think this shot is hilarious.. Yes it is VERY out of focus but it shows you he is fast and really into the baseball game..
Dinner with Meme .. He was insistent on eating in his chair, with a table, with meme, by the pool.. Oh the mind of a two year old! The theme of the summer is ICE CREAM!!!! He doesn't get many sweets so I figure we can indulge sometimes..

he also LOVES LOVES LOVES his fishing pole! He is fishing for Gaga in the pool! How stinkin' cute is that??!?!?
He isn't near as comfortable in the water this year as he was last year.. I bet he will be by the end of the summer!
Lunch... again with the green chair and a table.. and laying out in the pool. I love the facial expressions!

There is that little bit of fearlessness! Love it!!
Classic summer.. Swimsuit hanging out to dry.
Why wouldn't the dog sunbath on the deck!?!? He was out cold. I actually had to poke him with my toe to make sure he was still breathing!
It was a very relaxing weekend with the fam. I am one bless little girl! Let's all remember what this day is all about. For those who unfortunately did not make it home to their families. May all those families know that their loss was not in vain. I hope you find peace in the fact that you were blessed with a hero in your family. And to everyone else out there... never take these precious moments for granted.. you may be just hanging out doing "nothing" but when you are with your family and friends you are actually doing a whole lot of something :)
