August Randomness

As you all know by now the "random" post is my favorite of the month....but this one makes me a little sad as it marks the end of the summer... No more fun with sprinklers...
no more shooting your best friend with the hose...Ahhhh, goodbye summer. You will be missed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now on to random August!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We finally got new brackets for his big boy bed. If you remember the original conversion kit didn't fit so he had roughly 2 months of a mattress on the floor. Day 1, not so sure!

and why wouldn't you sleep at the foot of your bed on the first night in your big boy bed!

And then we digress....As many of you know we struggle with Chaz staying in his bed at night. He rarely leaves his room but he usually sleeps on the floor.. I have given into this as I think it is just a phase and he will grow out of it AND it is not worth the fight to get him in bed. Anyways, lately he has wanted his daddy to read him his bedtime story (*tear* as this has always been my time with him.) Anyways, one night I was sitting on our backporch enjoying the weather when Ryan comes outside and say "He is asleep! Yeah, go me!" A few minutes later I hear clanking on the monitor.. I look a Ryan with a very puzzled look. He calmly says "So I gave him one of his wooden trains" This is rule numero uno, no toys at bedtime! AGH! I wasn't going to go back there because that would start a bigger mess, so we just waited until the noise ended and he was asleep. Heck, Ryan said it was just one train so what amount of damage could really be done...................Hmmmm, although he is sleeping, looks like we actually have 7 trains, all the wooden pieces to the trains, a Mickey balloon and a wooden frog...someone fibbed!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, we started this thing where we try to get Chaz to do a sweet face.. we say "Don't you smile..Don't you smile!" This is what we get...
What good stuff!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And then my favorite thing ever, which will soon be covered with socks and boots, baby feet. Ahhh, baby feet!

We also had one of our last buzz cuts for the summer.. and why wouldn't we let the (almost) 3 year old man the clippers!He thought it was so cool. Look at that skill and determination!"Daddy, don't you smile at me!"We had MANY an afternoon/evening playing in the backyard. Look at that joy!!
redneck games??running from fence to fence.. Yep, that is how you wear them down!His daddy is such a good sport!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, we had an "incident" about 5 months back.. My husband lost his wedding ring. Well, if you ask him it was really a combo of the both of us. He was working on building the swingset in the backyard, his ring was rubbing a blister so he handed it to me, I placed it on the bar outside and we haven't seen it since. We think the little guy probably had something to do with it, but that is an easy blame. We tried everything--we tore the house apart, used a metal detector, even stooped so low as to have Chaz try and "lead us to it" (note: all the while he was saying "it not in there!") So, after 5 months I decided to get him a new one. Actually, it is the exact same one I bought 9 years ago.. but the price of gold has increased exponentially...UGH! I had our friends Izzy and Sally help me with getting his ring size --a quick "do you even know what it would feel like to have a wedding ring?" Ryan put on Izzy's ring and we immediately knew the size. I think Ryan knew eventually he would get a new ring but I think he thought I would hold out a little longer... Chaz of course wanted to open the present for him! He said "Daddy, I found your ring!!" Like it had been in a gift bag on the kitchen counter for 5 months. Too cute!
I loved his reaction and am even happier that my husband now wears a wedding ring :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I mentioned we had many afternoons/evenings outside playing in the yard... well, most of them included Fletcher. We love when Izzy calls and says "Fletch wants to see Chaz" Well, c'mon over!!I love this picture! We have some pretty goofy kiddos!

Later that evening I found the boys like this... Reading their bedtime stories to each other!

We spent much of the summer like this... Chaz would strip down to his underwear and say "Ok, I'm ready for my Popsicle!" I guess they just go hand in hand.We spent a wonderful evening at my parents house playing in the pool. I am going to miss hanging out outside around the pool. Kelsey brought these orange sunglasses that Chaz just thought were the best thing since sliced bread! You have to admit he was a pretty cute pool nerd!

We celebrated Michelle's birthday, in fear for my life I will not say what number :) hee, hee!E.V.I.LThe next morning we had a wonderful visit from Sidney and her momma (the boys went golfing) Chaz loved having someone younger then him so he could "show her the ropes" He was all about bossing her around (very much like me and her momma when we were younger :)
We had a great time just hanging out withe the kiddos. They are getting SO big!! Sidney even did her first jump off the diving board!!
We tossed them around like little sacks of potatoes.. They thought it was hilarious!!and Chaz treated Sid to her first taste of Jello. She kept saying "mmmmmmmm" with every bite. I think it was a little piece of heaven to her. Back in the pool and Chaz decided to chase Sid and Lindsay around "like a monster" Sidney thought he was a riot! Just look at that expression!And then it was time.. Time for the biggest stress on my heart of the summer......Chaz riding his Rhino down the road, yes the REAL road!! I promised him he could ride it to Aunt Michelle's house after he took a nap and with the memory of an elelphant he quickly reminded me the second he woke up.. So, we were off! YIKES!! Dad drove the Hummer, mom rode in the back with the hatch open and Ryan and I trailed behind on the regular Rhino. The ride lasted forever in my mind but Chaz did great! If there was a car I would tell him to scoot over to the side and stop (note: there are not many cars on this stretch of the road) He was so proud of himself, as he should be. But I can't say I was dissapointed when he decided to had us haul his Rhino back instead of riding it. WHEW!

Another classic that is going on in our house right now.. "Chaz, show me your cute face" Everytime is different, yet equally adorable.and when we got home we took showers and curled up on the couch. Me with my celebrity mag and him with Phineas and Ferb.. What a wonderful end to a fantastic weekend!and so concludes our WONDERFUL summer. I am sad because it is over but already looking forward to fall weather, football, Halloween, Thanksgiving, CHRISTMAS!!!

We going to the waterpark!!!!

It worked!! The reward system worked like a charm!!! Chaz loved every time he got to put in a bouncy ball in the jar. He would talk about the things he did and how he was good...and how he needed a bouncy ball, or two, or three, or eleventeen (his favorite number) So, we had already decided his reward would be a trip to WhiteWater in Branson...and technically the trip was planned before the last bouncy ball was earned.. The morning of the trip he solidified the trip by brushing his teeth..."I GET THE LAST BALL, C'mon momma. Let's go!!"
"See? See it??"

"Look! I did it! I got dem all in the bigger jar!!"
"It's empty!! Do we go to the waterpark now?!?!"
"I wanna see all my bouncy balls!!" Look at all the ones he earned.. *proud momma!*and we were off! "We going to the water park!!!" What he wasn't quite aware of is we were headed up on Saturday for a little shopping, eating and drinks with my cousin and her family. Then on Sunday we would meet up with the rest of the fam (Meghan, Mike, Anna, Ben, Brandon, Cameron, Jackson, Michelle, Stephen, Alexis, Kelsey and us)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So as we were wasting time waiting for my cousin to get to Branson we spotted this gem....Ryan said "C'mon let's let him ride it" I asked if I could fit in there with him to make sure it was safe and was met with a roll of my husband's eyes....
Yes, it is a mini farris wheel only big enough for the little ones. Chaz was pretty pumped and how could I tell this little boy, who tried so hard to earn a reward, no.. I couldn't and I didn't. I put on my big girl mommy panties and let him go. And he LOVED it!!!
Now I have to tell you this is actually a little mini kid park on the side of the main strip. It has five or sx rides. Each ride is a couple bucks or you can get 2 hours unlimited for $12.. We went with the $12 although we would only be there for about 30-45 minutes.. we knew Chaz would ride some multiple times. Let me tell you, we got our money's worth!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Next up.. the carrot ride.. Really a spinning tube covered with carrots with rabbit carts that go around it?!? Who knew? This quickly became a fan favorite..

There was the swing ride.. which chaz immediately said "NO, WAY!"
But these... These were his FAVORITE! Tea cups!! I have so many pictures because he LOVED, LOVED, LOVED them... Did I mention he LOVED them?!?!? :)

So then we were off to the train... Note: This was the only ride where they scanned his wristband. I really think he could have just walked up and batted his eyes to these girls and they would have let him do anything!!
He started off as the driver.. there was a cool bell that he could pull a cord and ring..

The train takes off and goes under this cute little house..

Then out around a big loop....

and back under the little house.. He thought it was the best thing... until round 3 where he randomly said "ok, i'm done" The girls running the rides were so nice and would stop them when the kids wanted off or let them go a little longer if they loved them.. This was a BIG help for the super fickle 2 year-old.
The second time he rode in the back.. he was not impressed.. and then we were back to the rabbit ride... but you may notice a little friend. This is Hunter, he hung out with Chaz while his grandpa sat on a bench in the shade.. Fine by me! Notice their personalities were similar.. hence the "no, I'm not looking at you" picture below..
Oh wait! There are those toothy grins!Then, of course, Chaz just had to go show Hunter the farris wheel. He talked about it as if he was the farris wheel expert!and then, what was this??? Hunter was able to get Chaz to go on the swings! YEAH Hunter!!!
He loved them!and then he started to get bored......and more bored....
yep, he was done...
D.O.N.E.
and then we checked into the hotel.. and all heck broke loose! The hallway.... the bootie.... it was a missionI'm streaking!!!! Seriously?!?!? and then he was down the hall.. We were saying "Come back Chaz, Come back!" He thought he was so funny!The next morning he was ready to go to the waterpark (understatement of the century!) As soon as he got up he put on his bathing suit and for the next few hours we heard "We go to the water park?" about 483 times... Daddy was still sleepy so Chaz climbed on his back and watched cartoons while he was patienty waiting.. "I ready to go to the waterpark!!"Did I mention he was ready to go??I did not take my camera into White Water--to much risk for this OCD camera addicted girl! But I did get this great shot when we got to the car.. Chaz literally fell asleep on the walk out of the park... needless to say this weekend was a success!!! White Water we will see you A LOT next year..
When we got home we transfered all the bouncy balls back over to the little jar in order to start the process over again. Chaz looked at me and said "Cool mom. We go to the waterpark tomorrow??" I love this kid!
