November random goodness!

November is a great month! It is the beginning of the holiday season, we have MANY birthdays in November (Mom, Dad, Shane, Jackson, Lindsay, Jimmy... ) and the weather quickly switches to cold. It is time to wear sweaters and jeans! Although, I wish this period of coldness was a little shorter, I will take it! So, here you go! A whole bunch of November randomness. And as promised I have mixed in the "standard" random with the "iPhone" random. Enjoy!

This is what we do the day after Halloween. We take Chaz down to the Halloween store and let him pick out anything he wants. Everything is 80% off so the ticket is never over $12. He, however, thinks he won the lottery. I think this picture made its way into the October random blog but I thought it was important to post it again as the light saber has met its maker. As of 12/5 the saber is no longer. That means it "lived" just over a month. Welcome to the world of a 3 year-old! What is better than a night bellied up to the bar.... A kiddo with his milk and chicken, bellied up to the bar at Noodles!
Have I mentioned I LOVE ChuckECheese? Not for the germs or the wonderful pizza, but for the way it is able to put this kid into a deep sleep! Thank you Logan for having your party at ChuckE!on the way to my parents house one afternoon I saw this.........REALLY?? Now, let it be known, I have no issue with hunting. I would like for you to eat the animal you kill but other than that, no issue. But really? Really people? If you don't have a "proper" way of hauling your kill in, please find one. A Nissan SUV is really not the way. However, I do appreciate that you attempted to cover the deer's head with a cloth in effort to hide the shame. I am pretty sure this picture may win the 2010 Randomness award. and here is the ToysRUs big book, once again. This time the Gaga and Papa were his prey. It is actually very amusing to watch him go through this book and pick out his "favorites." He has even decided Zoe, his imaginary friend, needs Christmas presents. Well, of course she does. Ugh. His favorite thing at Gaga and Papa's house (besides Gaga and Papa) are the tinker toys. Who knew these would be such a hit!! It is literally the first thing he does when he walks in. He will attempt to forgo dinner, snacks, naps...really anything JUST to play with these things. And inevitably the boy now has a fascination with guns, not abnormal for a boy. I didn't try to avoid this because again, it is inevitable. I did however think it would take a little longer for everything to turn into a gun. And this kid doesn't really play around, he makes elaborate machine guns. Oh mercy me!
and Papa is happy to partake in the silliness of it all.
What is that? Oh it is the Big book, how could I forget. Obviously, I am not that impressed as I am asleep on the couch. I tell you, this kid is relentless with this book!!
We decided to take Chaz "window shopping" at Walmart with my parents one afternoon. The purpose was to let them (and us) see what he liked and wanted for Christmas. Now, I know what you are all thinking..BUT it was a good idea and we discussed it before we went in. I told him we were there to see what he wanted...NOT to buy anything. Honestly, he did so good....until the end. We were about to leave the toy department and he spotted the Handy Manny Big Construction job toy, it was all downhill after that. For some odd reason we had a basket and before we knew it he had lobbed the thing into the cart. "Ok, let's go!" My dad looked at me, I looked at my mom and then we all looked at the cutest little 3 year-old ever made. What are you to do? If it were just me I probably would have made him put it back but I knew if I did our day was shot and who wants their kid to completely melt in front of their parents?? So, I shamefully said to my dad "We can buy it and wrap it up!" I knew wrapping it up was about a 1% chance but I had to sell it. Dad bought it, Chaz smiled and off we went. After lunch the boy fell asleep in the car. We ran a few more errands and then went to my parent's house for the rest of his nap. The moment we pulled in the garage his eyes opened WIDE and he said "Where is my Handy Manny Big Construction Job???" Note: there is no short version of this name.. full.name.every.time. He hopped out of the car and ran to the trunk. Wasn't this kid just sacked out?? Dad opened the trunk and Chaz peeped in. My Dad's coat was over the toy. Chaz quickly pushed it to the side, grabbed the box and ran inside. "Handy Manny Big Construction Job! Handy Manny Big Construction job!!!" Yep, we will wrap that up Dad.. whoops!
My friend Sarah and I bought this hat last year as a joke. I like to put it on him because it is just too hilarious for words. Obviously, I had to send Sarah the pic. Yes, it is very blurry but it still makes me smile every time!
If I haven't mentioned it before the iPhone has COMPLETELY changed the way I shop. I have so much less stress this holiday season because I have this nifty little phone that I can take decent pictures everywhere I go. I can save them, email them to myself, email them to family for idea, email them to family to see if their kids will like the something, I can sneek a picture when Ryan says "oh, that is cool" etc. The list really goes on and on. Love my phone!! Well, apparently so does my 3 year old. He has now started making me take pictures of toys. He will line them up and say "Momma, take a picture of dis and email it to Santa" Oh my!! This day was "Momma, take a picture of me with dis and email to Papa. He will like this and maybe get it for me for Christmas!!" I love how he just pushed himself up there for the picture. So, so funny!
Another favorite Saturday stop. Mad Pizza! It is a wonderful little place in Rogers. They have buffet style pizza with random flavors -- baked potato, taco, macaroni and cheese, cheeseburger, etc. The boy loves it and eats very well. After he eats he gets $1 to spend in the game room, turns his tickets in for some worthless junk and has a grin that could put a smile on anyone's face. It sure makes his momma happy!
I have no idea what came over me but I decided to be creative with the Christmas decorations this year. My tree had had a face lift, my mantle is wonderful, my kitchen nook table is decorated, the dining room, front porch, HOG tree, etc. I will have a full post of it all later but here is your tease.. AND this one got MUCH better. I heart it!
Found this beauty in my dryer one day. Yep, it had to make it in the laundry basket, out of the basket and into the washer, out of the washer AND into the dryer. WHAT?? How does that even happen?? The sad thing is I can't blame this on the hubs or the 3 year-old. This one was all me... but it still works!
Remember how I said I shop by photos? This day it was just Ryan and me in Target, I found this adorable dress-up dress for my niece Anna but wasn't sure if she would like it.. So this is the picture my sister-in-law received on her phone, model and all!As you are all well aware by now, I heart randomness! And this was one of the top five of the year. Really? A tattoo kit for kids? My mom is so sweet to take pictures of the boy whenever he stays with her. Papa shared my Meme's famous fresh apple cake with him for breakfast. He loved it!and then, of course, it was building time in Papa's garage. It started off as an airplane (as most things do) but ended up as something else. Who knows? They have the greatest time in the garage. And Chaz has such a BIG imagination so it is super fun!Back to the randomness.. This is definitely in the top 10 of 2010. After we left Mom and Dad's house we needed to run a few errands. We pulled up to Sam's, parked the car and looked up to see this....We both busted out laughing.. The dog looked like he was driving. We were looking it like him like he was crazy and he was doing the same to us! (We probably looked odd standing in front of a car with our iPhones)
Z.O.N.E.D
We were decorating the Christmas tree one night, Chaz turned to me and said "Momma, I gotta go!! I gotta go to college" All I thought was "Yes, yes you do...but not yet!! Please don't grow up this fast!" I just had to capture how little and cute he was when he said this.
The Wednesday before Thanksgiving I took the day off for some Christmas shopping. We met up with Izzy and Fletcher at the mall and the boys just had to hit the ice cream truck. Chaz is having so much fun he is blurry.. That says a lot!!
His favorite activity of the day...."alligator"...oh wait escalator!I swear this kiddo refuses to sleep under a blanket.. What a goofy kid!
and then it was TURKEY DAY!! He was really mad at me for making him wear this shirt but he was sweet enough to play along for Momma's Facebook post picture. and yes, we braved black Friday. Now to be clear we did not go out in the middle of the night...Wait, I did not go out in the middle of the night...the hubby did! I know I am shocked. I curled up in bed with my little guy and watched a movie. My husband on the other hand met up with his best friend Izzy at 10pm (This year Walmart and ToysRUs started their sales on Thanksgiving night) I still think they are insane. The next morning we headed to Target as a family, you know at a decent hour. This, this claw thing was the only thing we bought all.day.long! Wow! Just call us supershoppers!!
The next day when I was taking a shower I noticed the water pressure was really, really low. I mentioned it to Ryan who quickly headed out to check the sprinkler.. UGH!! There was water shooting multiple feet in the air. We talked about winterizing the system, but ...oops we forgot! We called my dad and he was down in a flash. The boy of course wanted to help so we put on his hooded sweatshirt and let him got to town. He was so happy to be a helper to Papa and Daddy! And the good news is the sprinkler is fixed AND winterized! Note: the bucket is stained with paint, not dirty. I had to ask my dad as I was a little grossed out.
Papa showing him how to "use" the pipe wrench on the side of the fench. Why not?!?!Chaz loves gloves ("glubs") hats and scarves! He wears his Daddy's hat and scarf but I am on the lookout for some his size for Christmas. He also MUST make sure his coat is zipped at all times. Is he not the most precious little guy you have ever seen?!?!
and last but certainly not least we let him be in charge of pjs one evening. He usually picks a pair out and we are set. But not this night, noooooooo! He wanted almost every pair in the drawer. We ended up with 4 pairs of underwear, 2 pajama pants, 2 pajama shorts & 2 pajama tops. He could not have been comfortable! But he was oh so proud of himself!
