Yesterday brought the beginning, tomorrow brings the end, and somewhere in the middle we became the best of friends. ~Author Unknown

Chaz's best buddy (outside of the family) is Fletcher. They are great pals and i hope they continue to be friends for a very long time. I met someone recently who introduced their best friend as "my best friend in the entire world!" I think if the boys could express themselves this is what they would say. Ryan and i consider fletchers parents some of our best friends and we can only hope the same for the boys..

I remember the night fletch was born. HA!! what a trip. Izzy calls ryan about 1130 and tells him fletch is on his way. I (being the female) continue on my merry way to bed, this baby was not coming anytime soon. next thing i knew ryan was standing next to the bed with two walmart sacks of stuff and fully clothed. I tried to convince him to come to bed for a few hours and then we would go up there to be with them. Ryan insisted we go right then...so with that i climbed out of bed and headed to the hospital...

when we got to the hospital i first checked on sally who was doing great! and izzy who was a little white because of nervousness.. I then began to unload the infamous walmart sacks.. here is what happens when a man (who is SO excited for his best friend) packs the "essentials" ..we had 8 bottles of water, 2 cans of pringles, a glamour magazine and a book about shark attacks.... ryan and izzy were asleep about 1 hour after we got there. I however stayed up to be with sally. we talked between the contractions, read every single word in the glamour magazine, ate ice chips, called the nurses in 1million times to check sally as in true form she didn't believe she wasn't further along and in the end read the shark attack book. Note: this is probably not the best book to read to a friend in labor but it makes you think---even with the pain you are in ..it could be worse. although this was not my plan of how we would support the schmidts--I cherish this experience with her and think it brought us closer together than we could have ever imagined.

Then the anistegiologist, who i must say looked all of 14 years old, came in... I woke up the boys and ryan and i went home to rest until the little man joined us about 5 hours later.

This year this little, BIG surprise, turned 3. We love him so much and consider him a HUGE part of our family. I think we have many many memories ahead of us with this sweet little boy.. Happy birthday fletch!!

Ryan bought a fantastic present from fletch. It was a remote control bulldozer. The thing we didn't know is it was fortknox!! Izzy had to bring out all kinds of tools in order to get it open!

Fletcher "fixing" his car.

Chaz cleaning up. I tell you, if there is a broom this boy will find it.
