"How long do you want to be loved? Is forever enough, is forever enough?" Happy birthday little man!

Let me start by saying I know I am a little behind on blogs. I had a WONDERFUL trip to NYC that I need to blog about and we had Chaz's birthday party this last weekend (we have a bit of an issue with that one because I lost the memory card containing all the pictures, let's not talk about that because it makes me cry) Anyways, my point is..I get it, I am behind....Shocker! But today is the day that the good Lord gave me the best gift of my life. Chaz Lee Hill. So THAT is what I am going to blog about..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And with that said we begin with the lyrics of a wonderful song that gets me every time..You can here it if you turn on your volume when starting this blog.. or if you are a few songs ahead by now, just go to the bottom of the page and choose it from the playlist --it is worth it!
"Lullaby" ~ Dixie Chicks
They didn't have you where I come from
Never knew the best was yet to come
Life began when I saw your face
And I hear you laugh like a serenade
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
I slip in bed when you're asleep
to hold you close and feel your breath on me
Tomorrow there will be so much to do
So tonight I'll drift in a dream with you
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
As you wander through this troubled world
In search of all things beautiful
You can close your eyes when you're miles away
And hear my voice like a serenade
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
Valentines day 2007 the doctor confirmed he was coming into our lives. I wasn't sure at that point if he was going to be a boy but I had a gut feeling.. and about 10 weeks later my thoughts were confirmed.. It was a boy! My actual due date was September 12th (I think it was truly the 11th but the doctor said the 12th)
I actually had a wonderful pregnancy and beside the contractions (which lasted longer that I would have hoped) the birth of this little angel was not bad at all. I actually told Ryan "I could do that ten more times, no problem" Did they give me drugs?? Anyways, he was prefect in every way. We were surrounded by our HUGE family and TONS of friends over the next few days.. It was surreal.
"I never knew how much I loved your father until I saw how much he loved you"
The day we brought him home was a BEAUTIFUL day. The sun was shining, birds singing, life was good.. as the days passed we just fell more and more in love with this little baldy. I didn't even think that was possible.. But I have to tell you I think I love him more and more each day. He is my life. He loves his daddy.. clearly!
Next thing we knew he was a year old. He had a HUGE personality and was simply a joy to be around!! He was 20lbs 10oz. 29 1/8" tall.
We are a family, a unit, a team. We really go everywhere together and any possible free time is spent with this little cutie..
and then, could it be possible??? Was he really 2? 26lbs. 37 1/2" tall. At this point the doctor said he was on a 3 year level in all categories (verbally, mentally and physically) He didn't weigh much but was long and lanky.
I cannot believe how big he is getting...Does he look like a kid? yes. Not a baby anymore? no **Tear**
He usually looks like this.. Smiling ear to ear..
or this.. a serious, thinking face. I mean the troubles of the world are really on his mind~ Handy Manny? Lunchtime? where is my milk cup? Should I go up or down the slide?
Today is his birthday.. Born at 11:37. 6lbs 10oz. 19 7/8" long. He is now 31lbs. 38 1/2" tall. Still tall and lanky!
Wanna know some things he does?
  • when you ask what he wants to do he will say "Probably....." in a very long and drawn out way
  • he calls Ryan "Ryan" or if he is not listening he calls him "Ryan Hill" I wonder where he gets that
  • he dresses himself
  • he tells us our sweet Snowplow is in heaven
  • if you say something he doesn't agree with he will say "actually....." and tell you what he thinks....again I wonder where that comes from
  • every morning and night he says "momma, you the best and I love you" melts my heart every time..
  • if something is broken he tells us we need to "go to Papa's so he can fix it"
  • or we need to go to "Walmart and buy a new one"
  • he loves Handy Manny, Phineas and Ferb, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and of course Buzz Lightyear
  • he has been potty trained since May
  • he likes to help pick out our clothes.. "Momma, this looks beautiful on you!"
  • he likes to say "That means...." Example: "Momma, I don't want to get dressed. That means, I don't like it" I am sure most of these make more sense in his mind.. But all in all he is just trying to convince me to do something he wants to do.
  • he saw his first movie in the theater on 6/27. Toy Story 3, of course. AND he was fantastic!!! One minor incident when he spilled Sprite in his shoe.. but other than that, perfect!
  • he refers to himself in third person...no not Chaz, but rather "The Little Guy" Example: "Momma, The Little Guy needs to go to ChickPlay"
  • he thinks "dog pile" is "dog pilot" VERY funny
  • he keeps asking to fly in Papa's plane.. UGH!
  • he says "to finity and beyong!" a la Buzz Lightyear
  • he sings to the radio.. but just the main phrases or last word of a line.. Much like his dad
  • he tries to trick you when reading a book Example: he will point to a star and say "look momma, it's a dog!" and then grin..
  • he tells us "when the lights are out it is time for bed" the lights being the stars :)
  • every morning he wakes up and yells "Daddy, I waked up. Come get me!!" and he will wait until Ryan goes all the way to his room to get him
  • last but certainly not least .. he has an imaginary friend. Her name is Zoe. The weird part is that would have been his name if he was a girl. AND we don't know anyone named Zoe so we haven't a clue where he got it. Odd!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I took the day off work and just played with him. We went to Boingo Bounce (and indoor jump center in Fayetteville) and we were joined by my cousin Lindsay and her little girl...and Daddy of course...For lunch it was Chick-Fil-A (or ChickPlay as he calls it) After nap time we are going to go shopping for a special birthday toy (spending some gift cards he received this weekend) and then off to dinner at JJs with the fam. He loves their fried pickles and jalapenos!
note: his left eye looks a little silly in this pic but that isn't normal. It was caused by the insane amount of excitement to go to Boingo Bounce!!
I took this picture at lunch. I think it is the angle or maybe just the sentimental nature of the day but I still see a little bit of "baby" in him.. :)I want to thank all of our family and friends who have helped us get through these past 3 years. It has been joyful, trying, eventful, stressful, rewarding, and blissful. But I know in my heart of hearts we could not have done it without each and everyone of you. Chaz loves his grandparents, great grandparents, great aunts and uncles, aunts and uncles, cousins, second cousins and friends. You guys are the best! Thank you for sharing the last 3 years with us. I hope you have as many great memories as we do!
