Seriously? We have 4 two-year old boys???

So it is actually a lot more fun than it sounds. Chaz, Jackson, Ben and Brandon are all 2!! Well at least for a few more months until Chaz and Jackson round to 3. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyways this is about the twins... They turned 2 on June 18th. They are not identical in ANY way.. Actually they are kind of polar opposites.. Ben is the cuddler, Brandon is the wild child. Ben is shorter and has a wider face, Brandon is taller and thinner (although per Meghan, Brandon weighs more.. must be all that muscle) Two years ago they were in the NICU... excited, scared, happy, sad, grateful, blessed...you name the emotion we all went through it..
a year later they were perfectly happy, healthy little boys!!
and now they are happy, active two-year olds.....For their birthday we spent a nice evening at Mike and Meghan's. Lots.of.kids Lots.of.toys Lots.of.fun.With an absolutely adorable older sister.....Sweet baby...oh wait... sweet toddler face.. ok, so not the best picture but it is a challenge to get both of them in the same pictures and sort of looking at you... Yes, Brandon is the giggly, silly one :)
So the next picture makes me giggle. If you know my husband you know he LOVES mustard, scared to death of ketchup, but loves mustard. SO when he asked his sister for another hot dog with mustard.....This is what he got.and he ate it..... it was really meant as a joke.. but Ryan saw it as a challenge...it still makes my tummy churn just looking at it...
and then it was present time.. it started out fairly calm..Oddly, Brandon went for a card first, maybe a little more intriguing in a two-year olds eyes? and then I think sweet baby Campbell was the only one who didn't rush the presents and create complete anarchy.. However, if could she probably would have. Please notice the kiddos in the below pic.. Chaz, Anna, Jackson and Brandon....Where is Ben? You know the other birthday boy.. yeah, he should be there to open his own presents ... and he better hurry because these kiddos are not waiting on him! There he is.. Whew! And Chaz is of course telling everyone what needs to happen (he is his mother's child)as with all kids the boys were more interested in playing with the few open toys then opening new toys.....good thing there were 3 other kids who could help them with that :)LOVE this picture.. Ben loves his goggles and pretty much kept them on the entire night (you will see more) Obviously he put them on himself...hence the smushed nose and bent ears :)The boys getting Dah to help them open a present
Ben....more goggles + a cape = stinkin' cute
I'm telling you this boy would NOT take these things off...
Brandon being silly with a cape on his head. He looks like a little sheik..So as the present opening was happening you would notice one of the older kids take a present and go to the other side of the room.... Case in point.. the fireman costume. I am not even sure the twins saw or know they got this..and I think Chaz would have taken it home if I would have let him.... Guess what he is getting for his birthday??? and after I peeled the outfit off of him.. It was Anna's turn and she loved it just as much ..Again, not sure the twins even saw this present!
and then we had the classic older cousin moment.. "Let me show you how to open this"
Brandon just watched as if he was truly "learning" something new..
not only did he do this with the chainsaw but he did it again with the firetruck. And again Brandon just patiently watched.. it was actually pretty cute. Chaz would say "You see dis? Bandon, you see dis? Dis is de button you push to make it go WOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOO"
Jackson absconding with a presentMah learning the "joys" of opening kids presents these days... Metal twist ties are from the devil, just my opinion..
I have never claimed we are normal.. What I find funny is the two-year old is the normal looking one in this pic, they are usually the ones being goofy... no, not this time! LOOK I finally made it in a picture! I know...shocking! and classic that Chaz is clearly interested in something else..
The cake... My sister-in-law is a master cake maker. I don't think I could ever do this, too much pressure..She says this is by far not her best cake but I thought it was adorable. It was made of individual cupcakes!! However, my favorite cake, hands down, is Anna's first birthday 3-D rubber ducky in a tub cake. A-Mazing!!!
Time for the candles... and yes goggles and a cape..Why wouldn't you wear goggles and a cape to blow out your candles??!?!? Hey, it is his birthday and he will wear what he wants!!
and here it is, what you have all been wondering, waiting and hoping for.....the Chaz birthday candle blowout meltdown..... Yep, it happened. So if you remember on Fletcher's birthday Chaz made it to the cake first and caused him to have a meltdown moment. So going into this Ryan and I decided "Oh no, not again. I will not have THAT kid at every birthday party" Well, instead of him blowing out the candles and causing the birthday boy to cry, the birthday boy got to blow out his own candles causing Chaz to cry....or melt if you will.
Still going... I am telling you the wails coming from my child sounded like a tornado siren. We were all yelling over him trying our best to wish Brandon a happy birthday....
Yep, we tried not to be those people, but we were.. plus some.. In the end Mike and Meghan said "Go ahead, let him help" as most parents would --you know you are always WAY embarrassed of your kid, while the other parents really think nothing of it..
This is literally the next shot on my camera.. FOR REAL???? What a little toot!! I mean c'mon the world was literally ending with tornado sirens all of 5 seconds ago... and now this?? and of course in true form his father thinks this is hilarious..
Cake time!!! Brandon = hilarious... enough said..
Chaz = I don't like to get dirty..
Ben = don't take away my goggles and cape...
Anna = yeah, i am not sure what this one is :)
Happy birthday to you sweet, sweet boys! We are absolutely blessed to have you in our lives. We have approx. 3 months every year that all four boys are the same age.. I think I age 3 years during this time frame, but it is totally worth it. I love that you two are so close to my little one. You have years and years worth of memories yet to made as cousins, friends and pretty much brothers. Happy 2nd Birthday Benjamin and Brandon!!
