December Randomness

Our year has had a lot of randomness... This will be the last "randomness" post of 2010. Enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My dad has always wanted a train track under the Christmas tree....and this year he got his wish! And I think the 3 year-old was more excited than my dad. Anytime we stayed at mom and dad's he would get up and go straight to the tree.
The train was a wee bit louder that we wanted but it was SOOOOOOOO much fun for the little guy.
One morning Dad let Chaz go out and play with the "big dogs." Yes, they are almost as big as he is!*
*no children were harmed in the afternoon activities of two big dogs and one little guy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As an extension of the Christmas "Santa sleigh" events Chaz decided the sleigh needed to fly! So, why wouldn't you enlist you Papa to be the engine behind your flying sleigh?? Notice the pillows? Yes, those are presents for "all the good girls and boys"
There is the regular Santa sleight again..
and how do you stop your reindeer?? Oh, my poor husband. He is such a good sport!
I think this picture is hilarious. Why would a bucket of beer and wine be funny? Well, I had a small get together before Christmas and this is the only picture I got that night. This tells me that it was a good party because I enjoyed my company SO much that I didn't even pick up my camera.
We did a LOT of shopping this month --obviously, since it was Christmastime. Chaz is a pretty good shopper so we tried to take him along as much as possible. This afternoon we convinced my parents to come along with us, which instantly puts Chaz in a great mood.
and his Daddy taught him how to do a rally cap.
Shopping can wear a little guy out... but luckily his mom and dad have mastered how to transfer the sleeping boy from the car seat to the shopping cart without waking him.
He likes to pull out the rally cap thing out all.the.timeRemember our system of taking pictures of toys and emailing them to Santa? Well, I guess the boy figures it should work for candy as well. *Note: this was an unsupervised shopping trip with Daddy--hence the full bag of M&Ms in the 3 year-old's little hands. Ugh..

And then it was time to go back to the dentist--our first trip was back in June. Chaz actually loves going to the dentist. They are so wonderful! They really know how to make a kiddo feel at ease and how to make a dentist visit fun. LOVE THEM!!

He was SO proud of himself. We tell him every morning to "brush the spots off his teeth." So, when they were done cleaning his teeth he said "Look Momma, no spots!!"

and then he got to get a treat. He was still so happy and kept showing me his clean teeth.

I blame the next few on My Friend Sarah. She has a bit of OCD when it comes to odd things she sees when she is out and about--it can be a "People of Walmart" moment, an error in the menu or a butchered marquee. Because of her, I find it my mission to do the same. I mean, I fail you if I don't share things like these with you. If I am "lucky" enough to happen upon something of this magnitude, I need to take one for the team and take a picture. The first one is a double doozie. The minor offense was the mullet. It was pretty primo, probably a 6 on the mullet scale. But the best part of picture is the dog....yes, that is a dog! I'm with you, I thought it may be a horse at first, but it is a dog. I have to admit, I followed this lady around for a bit. Not to be rude but I was curious of why she had this horse/dog in Walmart. Don't worry, I kept my distance. I think I can confirm this was not a guide or assistance dog of any sort. This was a horse/dog and it mullet haired owner just out for a "normal" shopping day at Walmart.
I found this little gem at Academy Sports. Let it be known that I LOVE Academy Sports but you never really know what you are going to see. This guy was worth the picture. He had on full sweats (which is NEVER attractive) crocs (which are never a good thing on adults) and a John Deere do-rag. Yep, you are seeing this right... a JOHN DEERE do-rag. What??!!?! It had to either be hand made or won at the county fair. That is all I have to say. Awesomeness. A little thank you shout out to my hubby for posing while I got this wonderful shot.
Our weekend mornings are interesting to say the least. It is basically a round robin of people getting in and out of the shower, everyone trying to get ready at once and a little guy who wants to catch as many minutes of Phineas and Ferb that he can. He comes out of the shower still dripping wet. Then one of us tries to dry him off the best we can before he bolts to hide in the blankets or pillows. His ultimate goal is to catch just "one more minute" and he will use any method of hiding necessary.
This is random and blurry but I love it. I was sitting on the floor one night and I looked up to see this. I love this because they look like this is "normal."
One morning on my way to work I look down to see this......Hmmm, I knew my bones were cold for a reason!! Where are those 105 degree Summer days??
This is the look of fear while waiting in line for Santa. I wasn't sure if he was scared of Santa or the threats I had given.....but it didn't matter because he was FANTASTIC!!
One evening we met up with Mom, Dad and Meme at Damgoode Pies. The goal was to eat some pizza, go see the lights/camels on the square and send the kiddo home with the folks while we had a night out. We were happy to see that the Schmidts were there! So we sat the kiddos together for dinner. We were lucky that Izzy brought the DVD player. Talk about putting two little ones into a trance in about 2.5 seconds..HA!! They were quite most of the time, ate there dinners and even let Meme in for a little video watching. Good times!!

Then we were off to the square to see the lights. Dad decided we needed to take a ride in one of the carriages. I have to admit....I had an EPIC failure on this evening. I didn't leave my camera at home but I did leave it in the car. Boooooooo! I had my phone but as many of you know the nighttime pictures on an iPhone are not stellar. The saddest thing is we didn't even go back to get good pictures....double epic fail. Oh well, I did get these great videos of us in the carriage. Chaz loved yelling "Merry Christmas!!" to everyone. I love how he says it like an old man "Maaarrrr Christmas, Maaaarrrrrrr Christmas!!!"

Even though they are terrible pictures, I still have to share. Chaz decided he wanted to ride the camel, so Ryan and I needed to decide who's turn it was to go. Ryan thought it was my turn...Nope, I distinctively remember riding the camel last year (as well as the elephant at the circus) so I wipped out my phone, looked up this nifty little thing I call "My blog" and proved the guy wrong. Ryan, your up!
This looks normal right? Well, not really. I come home from work one evening and see this. No biggy, right? Well, there was nobody home..and the dishwasher was just randomly open along with some cabinet doors, the pantry AND the dryer was open as well. My ADD husband stuck again.
You have no idea how hard it is to go to work every morning when you are leaving this cuteness. *tear*
Christmas eve ...sacked out on his way to Gaga and Papa's house.
This is my poor guy trying to go to sleep at 11pm on Christmas night. Can you say OVERtired??
Red Rover was his favorite "take along" gift for many, many days. It is actually a game but he hasn't a clue how to really play. Oh well, he still loves it!The random posts are some of my favorite posts of the year. I have to say, it is probably the most accurate, non posed look into our lives. We are just learning as we go and trying not to screw up along the way. I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I enjoy writing it! Here is to a wonderful bunch of randomness for 2011!!!
