One BIG thing i will miss about this house......

I love, love, love where we currently live. The biggest reason we are SO close to the park. It is great to just pickup and go whenever we want. Here lately Chaz tells us when he is ready to go. He grabs his water/snack, jumps into the wagon and says "GO!"

When we get to the park we always pass a workout area. Usually ryan tries to do a few pullups..as does chaz. But this day chaz was very concerned with the rocks that were in the wrong place on the end of the sit-up apparatus. he wanted all the rocks off the concrete piece. as previously noted he is a bit OCD like his mommy.

And here is living proof that we are at the stage where we cannot turn our heads for more than a second.. literally 2 seconds and he was up on this thing.. with the look of "I'm not doing anything" he then looked at me and clapped as he was so proud of himself. how can i get onto a cutie like that??

Happy (odd) Birthday old man!

ok so this is a funny one.... Ryan's birthday is the 26th of may. This year it falls on the Tuesday after memorial day. A few weeks back he tells me we are having his birthday dinner at his parents house the sunday after his birthday, although i thought this was odd--i asked no questions, put it on the calendar and kept on moving.. SO fast forward to memorial day weekend. Ryan and I had a wedding to go to on saturday night so chaz stayed with my parents. Sunday morning we headed to bentonville to spend the rest of the rainy weekend with my family. about 6 o'clock i hear ryan yelling from the bathroom "Teresa! Teresa! come here, we have a MAJOR problem" Of course my first thought was "yuck he is in the bathroom and has a problem, i probably do not want to go there" but I went anyways. Note: everyone in the house heard this and was quite concerned. when i get bakc there he is rushing to change from his swimsuit to his shorts, he then tells me that the Hill family is at his mom and dads waiting on us for his birthday dinner-OOPS! Looks like we misunderstood the day for the event! HA! So since chaz was already in his pjs we left him with mom and rushed to fayetteville for ryan's birthday dinner. When we got there everyone was joking around about ryan being late for everything. in my defense this is the first time in our 11 years that the plans were not directly told to me by the family...see what happens?!?!?! anyway below is the one and only picture of the event - Anna and ryan blowing out candles.

Summer fun at Mapa and Papa's!

So far this summer has been great. Just look at the smile on Chaz's face (he just learned to do this on command)

One of chaz's favorite things to do is play golf.. he has a set at our house, papa and mapa's and in the car.

I took chaz to mom and dad's for an overnight babysitting and low and behold they had bought him his first "4 wheeler" He loved it!!! He understands to put his feet up, push the button and go. what he doesn't understand is how to turn. we have to chase after him and grab the bar to turn him so he doesn't wreck. Dad and I are getting a great workout.

and what does chaz LOVE to do at his grandparents house? SWIM! I love the look he had below.. it is like "mom why did you put me in daddy's swim trunks??" I promise i bought the right size they just make boy's pants SO long these days!
he wasn't terribly interested in swimming around the pool with daddy but instead he loved to sit on the top step.
he did a little bit of swimming. He still doesn't have enough weight in his bottom to keep him from being a bit top heavy. his head tends to dip into the water.
he loved to sit ont he step, then he would fill his bucket with water, get out of the pool and water the plants. By the time he got to the plants the bucket had little in it but it was so fun to watch!

We cleaned him up, put him in warm clothes and then daddy entered the picture. As you can see the fun began and the clothes didn't stay dry.

and sooner than later he ended up in the pool in his clothes. I swear he drank half the pool out of the bucket!
Notice the "junk in the trunk" regular diapers do not do well in the water (obviously this was not the plan)

and like most kids it was only a few minutes before he was naked as a jaybird. Still watering the plants.
he wanted to eat a snack and would not settle until meme was sitting at the table with him. Too cute!

Two men named papa, coincidence? i think not!

Two of the greatest men i have known go by papa.. My mom's dad (who passed a few years back) was PaPa. He was a wonderful man, he could be a pain but he was our pain. I cherish the summers we spent with Meme and Papa. I hope chaz feels the same about his mapa and papa. NOTE: we always called my parents grandma and grandpa. chaz determined what he would really call them, right now it is papa and mapa

Testing testing...

So we are going to Florida in a month or so and our mode of transportation is papa's new motorhome. In preparation for this we took a weekend trip to dallas in the motorhome. Chaz actually did a gerat job--napping well, eating well and he most definately has his mommy's balance. he walked aroung while we were going down the highway and did very well. the pictures below are when we put him in the front window......no we were not moving. We were at the gas station and papa was washing the windshield. chaz thought it was so funny to watch and loved standing in the window and waving to all the truckers. I don't want to jinx myself but i think the florida trip will be great!!

Kid--keep your clothes on!

Ok, I don't know how to stop this but it is happening more and more. We go check on chaz every night before we go to bed. well here recently he had started taking off his diaper. we have only had 2 times that there was pee, no poo (thank the lord!) We don't want to discourage him from taking off his diaper as we are trying to potty train but he needs to keep it on at night. UGH!

I never knew the love of my mother until I became one myself...

Mothers day 09.

We spent the beginning of the weekend with my parents, the end of the weekend with the Hills. it was a fantastic monther's day weekend. when i got home these beautiful flowers were on my front doorstep.

chaz loves to run and play in papa and mapa's backyard. noticed the rolled up newspaper in my mom's hand, this is not for chaz but for the new puppies they just got.

this is chaz and spike. he calls him "pike" and tells him "no, no, no"

When children go missing at the hill hours we usually start looking in the bathroom. i don't know what the draw is but they love to play in the bathroom. chaz and anna both had a broom and were playing. chaz kept running to the door and shutting it. he did not want me to take pictures.

Happy Brandon!

and his mommy.... DOUBLE YIKES!!

So anyone who knows me knows i am a bit OCD. I am constantly cleaning any and everything in site. Well chaz had taken up this habit. I can't say i am upset about it. anytime we go out to eat he wipes his hands and the table. anytime he spills something he says "clean clean" and will get a rag to clean it up.... what does bug me is when he makes messes in order to have something to clean up. He will spill the cereal and then go get his vacuum to clean it up. it was funny the first time.. :)

My son is turning into my husband...YIKES

So anyone who knows Ryan knows he is constantly on the phone. Well chaz has now taken up this wonderful habit. he had his little kid phone which is not as superior as mom or dad's real phone but it works. Here he is on daddy's phone, talking to Mapa (MAH-PAH) (Gma's new name) Usually when we ask him who is on the phone he saids daddy. i think this is very funny because it isn't so much that he is on the other end but daddy is always on the phone.

The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family.--Thomas Jefferson

There are only a few moments where you have a VERY happy kid and your camera..

Yesterday brought the beginning, tomorrow brings the end, and somewhere in the middle we became the best of friends. ~Author Unknown

Chaz's best buddy (outside of the family) is Fletcher. They are great pals and i hope they continue to be friends for a very long time. I met someone recently who introduced their best friend as "my best friend in the entire world!" I think if the boys could express themselves this is what they would say. Ryan and i consider fletchers parents some of our best friends and we can only hope the same for the boys..

I remember the night fletch was born. HA!! what a trip. Izzy calls ryan about 1130 and tells him fletch is on his way. I (being the female) continue on my merry way to bed, this baby was not coming anytime soon. next thing i knew ryan was standing next to the bed with two walmart sacks of stuff and fully clothed. I tried to convince him to come to bed for a few hours and then we would go up there to be with them. Ryan insisted we go right then...so with that i climbed out of bed and headed to the hospital...

when we got to the hospital i first checked on sally who was doing great! and izzy who was a little white because of nervousness.. I then began to unload the infamous walmart sacks.. here is what happens when a man (who is SO excited for his best friend) packs the "essentials" ..we had 8 bottles of water, 2 cans of pringles, a glamour magazine and a book about shark attacks.... ryan and izzy were asleep about 1 hour after we got there. I however stayed up to be with sally. we talked between the contractions, read every single word in the glamour magazine, ate ice chips, called the nurses in 1million times to check sally as in true form she didn't believe she wasn't further along and in the end read the shark attack book. Note: this is probably not the best book to read to a friend in labor but it makes you think---even with the pain you are in ..it could be worse. although this was not my plan of how we would support the schmidts--I cherish this experience with her and think it brought us closer together than we could have ever imagined.

Then the anistegiologist, who i must say looked all of 14 years old, came in... I woke up the boys and ryan and i went home to rest until the little man joined us about 5 hours later.

This year this little, BIG surprise, turned 3. We love him so much and consider him a HUGE part of our family. I think we have many many memories ahead of us with this sweet little boy.. Happy birthday fletch!!

Ryan bought a fantastic present from fletch. It was a remote control bulldozer. The thing we didn't know is it was fortknox!! Izzy had to bring out all kinds of tools in order to get it open!

Fletcher "fixing" his car.

Chaz cleaning up. I tell you, if there is a broom this boy will find it.

April nutshell...

Chaz LOVES to ride on the rhino at Gma and Gpas house. I think he is very much like his mommy in this way. i had my first 4 wheeler at 6 years old and basically grew up on them and motorcycles.

Here are random pictures from April. Chaz and his daddy decided to take off on Meme's bike. Despite the look on his face chaz enjoyed most of the riding.

Meme's neighbor Sue had pink flamingos in her yard. chaz was determined to get over there and give them kisses. Isn't he a
sweetheart?
Chaz thinks he is SO big now. He grabbed a bag and started loading it with items from the pantry. I am afraid he may like to shop like his mom!

This is one of Chaz's best friends fletcher. He is three years old and loves to hang out with "baby chaz" This was a random day at bedtime, fletcher was being a big boy and showing chaz how to brush his teeth. I wish i had my big camera because the picture is pretty crappy --but they are SO cute I had to post it :)

Campin' out for Nathan's bday....

What do we do for birhtdays now that we are old and have kids ...... we campout (the kids hang out for a short time, then off to Gma's, aunts, grammy and the like)

This is sidney. This may be the first introduction of her on the blog so a little background. She is my cousin Lindsay and Nathans first baby. She was born in July 08. Chaz loves her and calls her baby. She gets her beautiful big blue eyes from her daddy.
Mommy and chaz before the rain came..

Kissing cousins. as i said, chaz LOVES her!!
