This is the house that Chaz built.....

So I must begin this post by saying everyone warned me of building a house.. but i must say it went really well. I give MAJOR props to our builder Ben Booth. We really could not have done it without him (obviously!) He was nothing less than perfect. He coached us through the entire process. The best thing I think we did was own the loan. We had our hands on every single detail of the build... from the floor plan (which the altered to fit our needs), to where each and every plug went, to the colors, to the faucets, to my ultimate moment of weakness... the urinal. I also have to say this was a wonderful testament to our relationship, we didn't disagree on anything!

So i will walk you through this wonderful house where we will raise the kiddo we have now and the ones who will join us soon (no mom and mah I am not preggo!)

This is the front (obviously) If you drive up stone mountain.. go straight up the hill we are the second house on the right..

This is the game room...aka the new kids room. We put the couches from the old house in this room along with the beast of the entertainment center (see previous post :) and most of the kid toys that previously resided in our old game room. I cannot wait until all the kiddos friends and cousins are playing in here full force.. yes I said it and i understand it will be a mess I will have to clean.. oh well the fun that will come is fully worth it.

See that back door in the last picture well the below picture is the view off the top deck that is right outside that door (with a key coded lock so the little ones can't get out) Anyways i absolutely love the view from both the top and bottom deck of the house.. you would think we were WAY out in the country but nope we are in town!

This was my moment of weakness.. yes, believe your eyes ladies and gentlemen.. THAT is a urinal.. The story goes like this.... Ryan and I were walking through the house after the plumbing has been installed and I said "honey, I know you have always wanted a urinal and this bathroom would have been plenty big enough for one.. too bad we didn't think about doing one... " Immediately Ryan texted Ben and the next day it was a done deal... I really thought it was too late.. Oh well we have plenty of boys in the family that it will be used. AND it is auto flush so i don't have to worry about much. (note: there is also a standard toilet around the corner in the bathroom for all you "regular" people. )
this is our theater room/bar. It is not completed but hopefully will be soon. Mom and Dad were so wonderful and gave us their theater sofa. It fits perfectly!
and this is the bar. This room will be so much fun during Razorback season and the kids playroom is right next door!
and so now we are downstairs.. This is my wonderful laundry room. Ryan laughed at how particular I was about this room but with 2 kids (hubby is included in this count) I spend a lot of time in here... I love it!! and see that little hole in the cabinet.. well that was the genius idea of my hubby who had the cabinet guy make a trimmed out hole and then put the cat box back in the cabinet.. BRILLIANT!
this is the opposite side of the laundry room. I have always been a fan of mudrooms and now I have a perfect place for dirty shoes, backpacks, purses, etc!

This is the little man's room. We tried to mimic his old room as much as possible. You know.. limit the trauma.. It has seemed to work so far.

This is the other side.. notice the big boy bed!!

This is the first guest room. The Lanes say it is their room and we need to put their wedding picture on the wall HA! This is the second guest room. It is not really done but it will work for now.. When baby number 2 (no mom and mah I am not preggo!) comes this will be it's room. It shares a jack n jill with Chaz's room. This is the hallway heading to the guest and chaz's room. I love all our family photos and Ryan is a MASTER at hanging them perfectly. Also there is this cool little display nook the the left. Love it!
More of the hallway.. yes it is a super long hallway and I have a TON of pictures

This is my kitchen nook. I am so surprise at how we actually eat at the table now, as opposed to the coffee table like before. The kitchen opens up into this and the living room. I love this layout!
Right outside this nook is the downstairs patio (where we have spent the majority of our time to date.. Ryan would like everyone to notice the huge TV in the corner. Yes, it is always on!This was another afterthought. We had this big table at the other house which we spend a ton of our time at....so we laid a slab of concrete and put the table, a chimney, a cool clock and some plants on...LOVE IT!
This is the kitchen.. although I am clearly not the cook in the house I absolutely love this room. It is just my style and perfect for our family. We also got a cool copper farmhouse sink which i can bath chaz in.. (See previous post) You will also notice we have stained concrete throughout most of the house.. the bedrooms are carpet and the living and dining are wood but all the rest is stained concrete and it was hands down one of our best decisions..

this is the view of the kitchen from the nook..
This is our living room.. So from this angle the dining room would be behind you.. kitchen is forward and to the right..
and here is the dining room. I went with a cool distressed wooden table.. 4 brown leather chairs and 2 red. I love it but I need some curtains and a china hutch.. I just can't find what I want..
Right outside the dining room and in the entry of our home we had the concrete people carve a razorback into the floor. SO COOL!
This is the view into the house if you are standing a little to the left of the hog.. it looks into our living, dining and nook
This is the office.. all razorback, stained floors. we love it
This is the master.. My next goal is to get new furniture in this room although i love the design, the color of the wood is not right for this house.. If i could find someone to stain it for less than new would cost I would do that but that is highly unlikely
This is one side of the master bath. LOVE the sinks, good job honey!
and this is the other side...

This is probably my favorite room in the house (the pictures do not do it justice) but this is one side of the master closet...and the other side... with a window!
That is it.. This is our house.. we broke ground mid march and moved in the first week of August.. Can you say speedy?!?! I hope if you are ever in the area you swing by and have a cold one with us.. We not only built this house for our kids to grow up in but for our family and friends to make memories with us. We welcome you all!
